Guided Tours of Historic Homes

Or, begin your Annapolis adventure here, with a guided tour to one of Annapolis’s most historic homes, the William Paca House and Garden or the Hammond Harwood House.

William Paca House and Garden
The restored home of William Paca, signer of the Declaration of Independence and Revolutionary-era Governor of Maryland, stands today as one of the most elegant landmarks in Annapolis. Guided tours of the house take place hourly. The last tour of the day is at 3:30 p.m. You can take a self-paced tour of the garden at any time during opening hours. The House & Garden also offer a uniquely beautiful outdoor space for weddings and other special occasions, as well as an indoor meeting facility.

Hammond Harwood House
Visit this elegant Anglo-Palladian style home from the Georgian period of the Golden Age of Annapolis’s history. Regular house tours run at the top of each hour. The last tour of the day is at 4:00 p.m. Tours include an overview of the history of the house, its architect, and the families who lived at the site. The museum showcases a superb collection of decorative & fine arts, with special emphasis on Annapolis cabinetmaker John Shaw and paintings by Charles Willson Peale and three other members of his family. Period rooms feature exquisite silver, china & furnishings of 18th and early 19th century. Patrons may also visit the exhibition gallery and garden at no charge.
